The project is financed by the ‘Trust for Social Achievement’ foundation and is worth 83 770 leva. The project has an implementation period of July 2022 to August 2023.
The ‘Building Capacity for Scaling Up of Early Learning Spaces’ project aims to support the development of children from vulnerable communities by expanding the network of spaces for early learning. For this purpose, the project’s activities are directed towards increasing the local interested parties’ and WWO Bulgaria’s capacity, as well as towards the research of effective solutions for a sustainable model of early learning for groups of children from small towns and villages. During the period of implementation of the project, the already developed practices in the Lukovit and Oryahovo municipalities will be expanded and we will work to ensure their sustainability at a local level. In addition, the programs based on play will be distributed among more children and families in the Targovishte and Sofia municipalities. It is expected that working on this project together with representatives from citizen organizations, local government and parents will lead to finding effective solutions for sustainability of the early learning spaces through appropriate financial models, which can later be used in different regions of the country.
A specific goal of the project is the professional development of pedagogical professionals in kindergartens and alternative education services. Professional development will be supported by WWO Bulgaria; registering of the Element of Play program with the Ministry of Education and Science; development of the system for training practitioners from the field of early childhood education and care. As a result of the implementation of the frame of competencies of specialists, it is expected that a better quality of implementation of the programs will be guaranteed.
